Build Your Own Franchise
We’ve built this interactive tool to help you estimate start up costs for your new ConcreteScience® franchise location. Keep in mind: this exercise is for reference purposes only and does not constitute an offer to sell or right to purchase a franchise territory. The UFOC document and franchise offer will contain all of the final information, terms and conditions of sale.

Part 1: Franchise Fee $
The franchise license cost is $18,500. This fee includes: the right to use the ConcreteScience® trademark, your months of royalty fees*, your initial marketing materials media package (see information sheet for details), an exclusive operating territory, operating manuals, complete hands-on sales, marketing and operational training, and initial sales lead generation.
* There is a continuation fee of 3% on all revenue generated from each franchise.

Part 2: Geographic Territory
Your 750,000-person territory included in the franchise fee is defined by contiguous zip codes (all of the zip codes are adjacent to each other). You also may choose to purchase additional territory, so long as the zip codes are contiguous to your included territory, at the rate of $0.11 per person.

Example
To help illustrate the process, we’ve chosen to establish a mock franchise in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
Example: ABC Concrete Contracting, Inc.
ABC Concrete Contracting wishes to establish a ConcreteScience® franchise in the western suburbs of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. They choose a Trailer Mounted service vehicle, a 750,000 person initial territory, and opt in for an approximately additional 200,000-person territory to complete their desired geographic location.

Where do we get population information by zip code?
ConcreteScience® uses the United States Census Bureau: American FactFinder Internet site with complete year 2000 overall population census data.

Follow this link to http://factfinder.census.gov and click on “Census 2000 Summary File 1.” Once there, choose the “Detailed Tables” option. Then choose “5-Digit Zip Code” option the under “Geographic Type” field (Part 2). You will be asked to enter the first 3-digits of the zip code in question and then select the 5-digit zip code from that list. You may also enter a “block” of zip codes more quickly using the 3-digit option. Finally, choose the “P1: Total Population” table for the population figure.

Where can I find the zip codes associated with a given city?
The United States Postal Service is the best place for this information. Go to http://www.usps.com and click on Zip Codes. You will be asked to enter the city and state. Use the resulting information to enter into the American FactFinder Internet site.
